Junior Planner / Urban Designer – Boniface Oleksiuk Politano Architects

Starting Pay Range:
From $60,000 - $75,000
Job Description:
About You:
You are a motivated urban designer with a background in planning, landscape architecture, or architecture (BC registered or eligible to be) who cares deeply about cities, design, and execution of projects. You are an excellent communicator - through graphics, writing, and speaking - with a clear understanding of the urban design process. You are willing to initiate independent thinking within the context of project parameters and contribute to a collaborative working culture. You are able to research and review regulatory information as well as innovative new practices. You are skilled in creating urban design drawings including conceptual massing and models which yield accurate development statistics.
Minimum Abilities + Experience:
- Must possess a minimum of 1-3years’ experience;
- Strong graphic design and presentation skills (Including Adobe Creative Suite);
- Proven track record of maintaining high quality standards while working within tight deadlines;
- Basic knowledge of building codes and construction procedures;
- Compelling interpersonal skills and effective written and verbal communications skills;
- Ability to handle stressful situations with a high degree of professionalism and composure;
- Ability to think critically about design process and client / community engagement;
- Trusted advisor to clients and team;
- Basic Knowledge of Rhino, Revit and AutoCAD;
- A vehicle and driver’s license is preferred.
