Skill Level(s):

Starting Pay Range:

From $60,000 to $70,000 per year

Job Description:

We are looking for a technically strong, highly organized individual to join our team. This is a hands-on role that requires someone comfortable managing the full project lifecycle — from early schematics through to construction administration — while coordinating across multiple active projects and consultant teams.

You'll be working directly on meaningful projects in and for First Nations communities. An understanding of, and genuine respect for, Indigenous protocols, governance structures, and community relationships is essential to doing this work well.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Lead and assist on projects across all phases: schematics, design development, construction documentation, tendering, contract administration, and warranty
  • Prepare and coordinate Revit/CAD drawings to a high standard of technical accuracy
  • Conduct bylaw and code research; prepare permit applications and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate with engineers, landscape architects, and other consultants — keeping drawing sets aligned and communication clear
  • Develop construction details with a solid understanding of wood-frame, concrete, and steel assemblies
  • Manage competing deadlines across multiple projects
  • Represent the firm professionally in client and community meetings, including in First Nations community contexts

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Cultural Competency:

  • Indigenous applicants are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Experience working with or within First Nations communities, or a demonstrated commitment to learning and applying Indigenous cultural protocols, is highly valued
  • You approach cross-cultural relationships with humility, respect, and a willingness to listen

Technical Skills:

  • Registered with the AIBC or eligible to register
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, and MS Office
  • Strong working knowledge of wood-frame building technology, construction assemblies, and detailing
  • Familiarity with the BC Building Code (BCBC) and Vancouver Building By-Law (VBBL); knowledge of the National Building Code (NBC)

Professional Qualities:

  • You can hold multiple projects in your head at once and keep each one moving
  • You communicate clearly — in writing, in meetings, and on site
  • You take ownership of your work and follow through
  • You ask the right questions, solve problems independently, and flag issues early
  • You're organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure
