Job Description:
About the Role
We are seeking a Junior–Intermediate Architectural Technologist to join our Vancouver office. This role is suited to a developing professional who is eager to build technical expertise while contributing to a range of project types.
You will support project teams through drawing production, consultant coordination, and participation in various phases of project delivery, with a focus on design development and construction documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of design development and construction drawings
- Support the coordination of consultant information into project documents
- Contribute to code reviews, site data collection, and project research
- Prepare and revise drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
- Assist with drawing coordination and quality control across disciplines
- Support contract administration tasks including shop drawing reviews, RFIs, and supplemental instructions
- Participate in site visits and assist with field review documentation
- Prepare record drawings as required
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have the following attributes:
- Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or related field
- 2–5 years of professional experience in an architectural practice
- Registration with AIBC as an Architectural Technologist AIBC (or working towards registration)
- Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with BC Building Code (BCBC), Vancouver Building Bylaw (VBBL) along with local bylaws
- Reasonable understanding of construction assemblies and building systems
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects
- Effective communication and a collaborative approach to teamwork
Assets:
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, Bluebeam, and/or similar tools
- Exposure to a variety of project types (residential, commercial, industrial, institutional)
