Stuart Howard Architects is a midsized design-oriented firm located in a building of its own design in Vancouver’s South East False Creek district. The firm has stressed user participation, neighborhood involvement, and quality design throughout its 45 year history. Designs are undertaken in the office with a team approach, with input from all members of the firm and participation in the process by the client and user group. We are committed to developing high quality, innovative design solutions for our clients.
Over the years, the practice has been involved in many building types with a strong area of emphasis on residential buildings, multifamily at all scales and Heritage restoration.

We currently have several projects that are moving into the contract documents phase, and several tower projects moving into design development phase. We have an immediate opening for an Intermediate to Senior Architect, Intern Architect or Technologist with strong contract documents production skills. Ideally we are looking for someone who deeply understands how buildings are put together and is as passionate as we are about thinking through and developing unique and interesting buildings and details.

Starting Pay Range:

From $70,000 - $100,000

Job Description:

Required qualifications include:
- 3-5 years of experience in the Canadian Architecture and Construction industry required;
- Strong technical knowledge in building detailing;
- Working knowledge of the BCBC and VBBL;
- Experience preparing Contract Documents;
- Experience managing Contract Administration on small to medium sized projects;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Vectorworks, Twinmotion and Adobe CS Suite an asset;
- Experience with non-combustible tall buildings a strong asset;
- BIM experience an asset;
- Must be registered with the AIBC or eligible to register with the AIBC.
